Whether you're a chocolate aficionado, health-conscious eater, or just someone who likes a good sweet moment, this recipe is sure to become a staple in your kitchen.
Let's get to it!
Method
Add NAWI Superfood Brownie Mix; stir to form a thick batter. This mixture will be very thick - almost the consistency of play-doh! Trust the process.
Press batter into a greased pan and bake!
Worth mentioning here a few key ingredients in NAWI Superfood Brownie Mix - the sweetness comes from a combination of coconut sugar, lúcuma and yacón. Lúcuma and yacón are two Peruvian superfoods that have been used by the Inca for millennia. They're low-glycemic and yacón contains prebiotics for gut health.
The Superfood Brownie Mix also contains cacao for its mood-boosting properties and maca for hormone balancing and libido. It's made with a quinoa flour base for a gluten-free protein boost, in addition to essential amino acids.
Almost all the ingredients are organic!
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/3 cup oil (I used melted coconut oil), plus extra for greasing the pan
- 1 c NAWI Superfood Brownie Mix (little less than 1/2 packet)
- Optional: 1/2 c mix-ins such as chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Yield: 1 8" pie
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 300F
2. Mash the banana and add oil; stir to combine.
3. Add brownie mix; stir to form a thick batter.
4. Pour batter into a greased 8" circular baking dish. Use a glass or ceramic pan to keep the pie extra fudgy and moist, or use a metal baking dish for a cakier pie.
5. Bake for 15 mins (glass or ceramic pan) or 10 mins (metal pan)
6. Let cool completely before digging in!
Enjoy :)
